For as long as I could, I have abstained myself from writing articles inclined towards the political scene in our beloved country.
Malaysia is a multi-ethnic nation. One that is blessed with multitude of resources and rich with cultures. Our fore-fathers built this nation together with the promises of peace, harmony and equality.
After celebrating 52 years of independence, I felt that our nation is moving further from the targets set by our fore-fathers. How can there be anyone that still view a certain minority groups of our fellow countrymen as immigrants? Didn't each one of our fore-fathers fought for the independence of this country? Didn't each one of our fore-fathers helped and contributed in building this wonderful nation?
I am sadden by our current leaders who still disregard this fact and look to separate us further. I am sadden that after 52 years of independence, our leaders have failed to show signs of progression but have became arrogant after holding on to power.
I write not because I loathe the current administration of our country, but urge the current leaders in office to step forward and be counted. I urge them not to take the position of power that was bestowed in their hands lightly. And I sincerely urge them not to abuse this power but to hear and act on the voices of the people who voted them into office.
For their motive is only to serve the purpose of the people. Their means is their voice and actions in the House and Senate to reflect our needs, for we the people provide them the opportunity to do so.
Malaysia have had it's past. We are now in the present but we need to start to look into the future. Will Malaysia achieve the developed nation status as planned, or are we doomed with breaking the struggles within our own country?
You decide.
